Anyway, I have short,
multi-directional thin eyelashes. Great for fending off dust particles, not so
great for flirting.
I remain a faithful mascara
junkie, experimenting with brushes and formulas so I can get by from day to
day.
While I continue to search
for that perfect fix, here’s what I do in the meantime when I want to get the
most:
Focus on the wand
Simple mascara wands with
sparse bristles don’t do it for me. Nothing magical happens. I find that wands
with millions of tiny bristles work best. They catch every errant hair no
matter where they might be headed and coat them with gooey goodness.
(Perfection for me is L’Oreal Telescopic. Talk about a wrecking ball).
Tightline
Eyeliner on the eyelid is a
great an marvellous thing for marvellous effects. In addition to that or for a
more discreet boost to lashes like when I’m faking the “I’m not wearing any
makeup” look, a precise line on the inside of the eyelid is BAM! Use a pencil
or an angled eyeliner brush.
Use translucent powder
Meanwhile there's always a girl's secret weapon... |
This acts like a mascara
primer and thickens each lash or like fiber lashes and adds more lashes.
Go around again
After this and any other
time, swipe another coat of mascara.
For more oomph with this
technique or others, use your wand vertically. I don’t know how to explain this
but it just does something.
By the time I’m done
pouring my heart and soul into this, I can pass for regular people with regular
one-directional eyelashes.
Again, thanks Mom.
