Therefore I'm always into anything eyelash-related (I'm really into anything makeup related).
Here's my latest discovery: fibre lashes.
This isn't a new product by any means; I have watched reviews and seen how it works and I was ultimately and recently convinced to try it out.
My product came from Lash Factory in quite a snazzy little velvet-lined box sort of like a case for sunglasses.
This box contained a tube of transplanting gel and another of natural green tea fibres.
First, mascara must be applied followed by the collagen transplanting gel. The gel prepares the lashes for the fibres and acts as an adhesive for the fibres.
The fibres are then applied to the lashes focusing on the top half of the lashes. The fibres look like loose bits of lint and attaches to the real lashes. In that way, the real lashes are thickened and lengthened up to 300%.
The transplanting gel is then reapplied to lock in the fibres.

Fibres |
Now, my own opinion is that this little invention is pretty handy. I'm quite impressed with the principle.
When I want extra eyelashes or some drama, I have to commit to the ten or so minutes it takes me to apply falsies.
(It's not always a win for me)
....And then, they're falsies; quite obviously.
Fibre lashes on the other hand can give the same effect but in a more natural and, thank god, an easier way.
By repeating the process two or three times, one can get the exact same length and thickness as a pair of wispy false lash strips or eyelash extensions.
But the sort of random position of the fibres make for a more realistic effect. So it's like a super amped and believable pair of falsies.
My eyelashes are crazy and strong-willed and they still look great with fibre lashes to me. I can only imagine the effect on uniform or longer lashes.
I'm totally ok with having my own wayward lashes --but thicker, longer and blacker? Yes thanks.
I have been asked whether I was wearing falsies or those were my own lashes while wearing fibre lashes *wink wink*

What I Use |
Out of habit one time, I went straight to the root like I do with mascara and just a speck fell into my eye. That wasn't fun. I got it out quickly and easily enough but that's not something to look forward to.
So here we are: I purchased the Lash Factory 3D 300X Fibre Mascara. This retails for about US $22.
I don't use it daily- only when I want some oomph and quickly. I also turn to it when I want falsies but don't have the time.
Anyway, I'm quite pleased with this and when I run out, I will be getting more.
I shall never be without fibre lashes again.

While I bought these online at Amazon, there is at least one seller I know on island for those people who want it now.
She retails Total Life Changes 3D Fibre Lashes at EC $120. Click the link to order or call 767 235 5656.
